I found this link to an aerial photo of the Lake Michigan shore. I know what it is, but do you have an idea of what it is?

Darn. I thought of a nuke plant, but the square towers fooled me!

Yup! I only found it after a really enjoyable hunting expedition all over the net! Grin

And I'd guess that its architecture was specifically designed not to look like the scary cooling towers that people associate with nuclear power plants.

One clue was the size of the thing. From the scale of the map, it had to be huge. So I knew it was very big and right on Lake Michigan. It was too modern and isolated to be a warehouse or an old packing plant. It didn't have enough docks to support a fishing fleet. That didn't leave too many options other than a nuke plant, so then it was just a matter of searching for nuke plants in Wisconsin.

The "square towers" are the two reactors of the plant. With it being on the lake it does not need cooling towers. The other Wisconsin nuclear plant on Lake Michigan does have cooling towers and there are non-nuclear power plants that do have cooling towers.

No, it isn't. The only month to really to swim in it is August. Otherwise it is too cold.
