Well... I s'pose if you expect to be reinstalling a lot, that's a good idea! I'm not yet at the point where I'm willing to plan on reinstalling as a normal party of game play.

While Vista was in beta I'd reinstall with each release they put out, so it made sense. Since it was finalized a couple months ago I burnt the Sims CDs to a couple DVDs.

Playing Sims has been like that for me for a looong time Greg.

Once I got the idea that it was part of the game, I didn't get so angry about it anymore... and now I have finally got into a sensible regime of backups and have the stuff on the drive, it really isn't so painful.

Lol, they broke hair color! NPCs such as Lucy Hanby and The Diva have shown up with different color hair and toddlers have grown up with different color hair than their eyebrows were in toddlerhood.

yes, I've been noticing that. Maid has an icon that shows her with red hair and actually is a blonde etc.

Outdated/incompatible hacks: TwoJeffs' pet parentage fix, JMP's pet job fixes.

What? Who broke hair color? Was it the hacks or was it Pets? Did it mess up anybody besides Lucy and The Diva?

Well that- plus the "hair" thing- is 3 strikes against the Offical Pet Patch right there! (As far as it getting onto MY computer, anyway! )

I'm going to say that since I've got 3 zillion (give or take a zill) Pet hacks, no Offical Pet Patch installed, & am without any "hair color" problems, that the Offical Patch is the bad hair day instigator.

I think it's safe to say that my game will be staying happily "broken" (un-patched) for the time being.

The people on MATY think that the patch fixes the original problems. JMP is considering the Patch to be Lies and Propaganda and refuses to look at anything.

Apparently it was the Pets Patch. So far only reports that it messes up Lucy, the Diva, and newly grown up toddlers.

That's weird. Maybe it only affects that one hair style?

People on MATY are saying they've had several babies grow up to be toddlers with mismatched eyebrow and hair colors. A few people have said they've had normal looking Sim-parents produce toddlers with very distorted faces; one person said their ugly toddler has a beautiful older sister.

That's only after installing the posted Pets patch?
