A friend of mine has an 11 year old son who's interested in cooking and I have to find a Christmas present for him. I was wondering if anyone knew of a cookbook for preteens?

I'm thinking easy to make but "real" recipes, not the Cool Whip/instant pudding mixtures they put in kiddy cookbooks.

Hmm... 5th grade... I'd guess that a 5th-grader could cook just about anything in a standard cookbook. I can at least testify that by the time I was that old, I was willing to try anything!

Well, the other half is "what the mother is willing to let him try," as in cost of ingredients and potential mess. I suppose I could call during the day while Nate and his 2 sisters are at school...
