I was wondering if anyone knows of any Halloween-ish games to play in a Kindergarten classroom party?

I'm the Room Parent in my sons class, and kinda have to come up w/ some things:)

Also, no pinatas.. LOL.. Some of these kids shouldn't have a stick.. LOL shocked

Draw the nose on the pumpkin: Draw a pumpkin on the blackboard, blindfold the kids, and let them draw circles. Circle closest to the correct location of the nose wins.

Sit on the balloon (with orange and black balloons, assuming no latex allergies)

Hmm... when I a tyke, we played lots of games at Halloween parties:
Bobbing for apples (apples floating in a tub of water; messy)

Drop the clothespin into the milk bottle (need modern substitues for an old wooden clothespin and a milk bottle)

Pin the tail on the donkey (old variation of Rose's pumpkin nose)

Try to bite an apple that's hanging on a string from the ceiling (only possible if two work as a team)

Ye old bean bag toss (A cardboard Jack O'Lantern with the mouth cut out would be a fun target. If you have a sewing machine, it's easy to make bean bags.)

Throwing darts at balloons (risky for kindergarten, though)

In one grade-school class we also had a costume judging. That might not be such a good idea since it inevitably ends with one embarrassed winner and 30 resentful losers--not the kids; their mothers!

Halloween needs songs! I don't know of a single song written about Halloween.

I don't remember ever sitting on a balloon. That sounds like an opportunity for kids to get hurt. They might have fun throwing water balloons out on the playground, though.

Well, maybe push-type clothespins are extinct in Texas, but you can get them at the DollarTree store here! You could use a pickle jar instead of the milk bottle. The mouth is a little bigger, but these are 5 year olds...

Nobody ever got hurt in the pop-balloons-by-sitting-on-them game at any of the parties I ever went to. Slightly nasty sensation if you had a dress on, but Halloween costumes usually cover more than dresses did when I was in elementary school!

Well, there you go. I just never would have thought to try sitting on balloons because I know from first-hand experience that you can get painfully stung if you pop one in your hands.

Thanks!
I love the idea of the nose of the pumpkin type thing and the bean bag toss.. Balloons though, I scared of the sound of popping balloons.. LOL! I think I must have had a bad experience w/ balloons at some point growing up.. Never liked them, LOL:)
