I just saw Norbit yesterday, Eddie Murphy's newest movie, it had it's funny moments but it wasn't his best.

Watched The Prestige on DVD. I loved it. Really makes you think.

Hmm... Eddie Murphy is going to have difficulty out-besting himself. He had a series of movies like The Golden Child that are almost impossible to beat!

I haven't seen The Prestige yet but the advertisements for it are intriguing! But, do I really want to think? Is it done as well as it could be or is this another Day After Tomorrow hate-monger propaganda piece intended to keep you from really thinking?

oh gosh, no, I don't mean that kind of think. It's actually more like slowly revealing a magic trick and yet you still wonder how it's done. Mystery and illusions, not propaganda. So yes, you should see it. And actually it's better than the previews I think. The previews mislead you as to what the movie is really about, but then, maybe that's the point.

Oh goody! I'll try to get out to see it, then!

Marketing is a subtle art from. Misdirection can work either way. The old marketing equation applies:

Satisfaction = Experience - Expectations

Just watched The Departed . I thought it was okay. It keeps you engaged, but I've seen other movies that I think were better overall movies, so props to Martin Scorcese, but I don't know if I would have awarded it an Oscar for best picture.

It's been a long time since they've give the Best Picture Oscar to a film I thought was the best picture of the year. The Academy has become totally politicized; it's all the rage these days.

Okay, first of all, I LOVE Day After Tomorrow!!!! It's such a good movie!
(Actually, I first saw it when out Earth Sci. teacher made us watch it, but that was awhile ago.)

I just watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest for about the fiftieth time. POTC and LOTR (Lord of the Rings) and the most awesome movies! All the action and adventure. Guess I'm just a sucker for that genre. And comedy. Grin

Hurry to that video store!

I'm planning on renting Stranger Than Fiction. It looks good. Has anybody seen it yet that can give me a review?
