The Townie Project
Part 55: Luck at the Lulu

Christy called a cab and headed for the Lulu Lounge downtown.

It turned out to be a rather silly place.
This must be very annoying to the staff.

But in the hot tub out back she met a very attractive fellow.

"Brian, Brian Goldman. Nice to meet you!"
Nice that Maxis decided to include some non-bizarro male (down)townies in Nightlife.

Christy wasn't shy about expressing her opinion of her new acquaintance.
Being out on her own has given her confidence.

And he seemed similarly interested.
Note the floaty heart or two. Looks pretty good in that swim-suit, our Christy!

She invited him over the next evening, and they got on very well.

Awwww...
A moon, a kiss, a water tank.

I just downloaded a crystal ball from MATY that's supposed to perform the match making function of the gypsy for cheaper.

The Townie Project
Part 56: Another man already?

Not long after, Christy brought a friend home from work.

Berjes somebody
Who can remember all these names, anyway?

He was cool and smooth, a fellow officer, and quite the gallant.

"To friendship!"
And does he have anything more than that in mind? Does she? She has, at the very least, a powerful Want to be Best Friends with Berjes.

By contrast Brian was a plain, down-to-earth fellow. Christy's feelings weren't entirely clear, but she felt in no great rush to decide. One evening she invited a few friends over, including both of the guys.

Someone else finds Berjes attractive also.
That's Dawn Raptor, of course, on the prowl from SSU.

And the feeling is mutual.
Not that anyone can resist a Romance Sim, but Berjes seems a little too smooth and cool for Christy (who is Family, and wants to have, urg, six grandchildren).

I've never felt any strong need for it (the only role a gypsy's played in Neighborhood One was as a flirtation target for Eleanor once). Christy's the only person I've really had trouble matching up, and it turns out she just needed a little house of her own and a trip downtown... *8)

The Townie Project
Part 57: The very best of friends

So, although she did eventually fulfill that Want to be Best Friends with Berjes, it's been entirely Platonic.

With Brian, on the other hand...

Best friends with (certain) benefits.

(One amusing side-note: although she's now in love with Brian, her early experiences with Sally still color her preferences. More than once she and Brian have broken off their flirting out on the sidewalk to simultaneously admire some passing female Romance Sim.)

So here's S.W.A.T. Team Leader Christy Stratton, off on her own, and prospering in the happy routine way that Neighborhood One Sims generally seem to.

A proud woman.

She and Brian are very much in love, and who knows what might come of that; maybe even six grandchildren someday. If I get lots of energy...

Hey, you totally deserve it. You and Kaylynn and Greg...the supercreative of Simmers. (There's probably a better word for that, but you know what I mean.)
happy11

Are you gonna post any more Townie Project soon, or are you going to leave us hanging on what's going on back at Casa Townie?

I'm mostly going to leave you hanging. *8) Or in fact nothing much -has- happened, because I've been spending all of my gaming time in Second Life (sort of like The Sims, except you identify with just one of the little people, all the other little people are controlled by actual other humans, and the building tools are far better!). (For a comparatively tiny number of pictures from there, see:

I tried to get Second Life, but it wouldn't load on my computer. It frustrates me. So I'll stick with Sims for now.

Yeah, it definitely pushes the envelope of what ppl's machines can do these days. The high-end game machines have no problem, but us ordinary people's computers are challenged. *8) I can run it well enough to keep me coming back, just 'cause I'm having so much fun!

Not sure what Greg's objection is! *8) The actual game looks quite a bit better than my flickr snapshots (I haven't figured out the best snapshot settings yet)...

Well give us something form the Townie Project or something to tide us over. Not enough Sim-related stress relievers could cause a person to go over the edge! LOL.

(Oh, btw, could someone tell me how to get pictures from the game out of the game to put here and stuff? I'm extremely challenged in that area. LOL.)

The pictures that you take while you're playing will be in ...\N00x\Storytelling, where N00x is the neighborhood where you were when you took the pictures.

Now that you've found the pictures, you'll need a spot to host them on the web. Photobucket seems to be a really popular choice for Sims fans who don't have their own sites.

Once you've got the pictures on the net somewhere, you can insert them in your message using the IMG tag. Just put in something like...

(img)http://www.sunsims.com/thesims2/images/ts2screens/happyvalley/patton_marquee.jpg(/img)

... except that you use square brackets instead of parentheses, and you get the picture, like this:

Obviously, you'd substitute the URL for your image instead of this one that I'm pulling off the Sun Sims site.
