Sims in The Sims (1) can die of old age?? You're kidding! (Did you have any kind of extra-realism mod installed or anything?)

No, I asked around and apparently it happens when you've played a particular Sim for a very long time. I had no hacks installed then - had tried the various gorw up things and didn't like them for various reasons.

Grasshopper that I am, for some reason I played the Senior Goths a lot. Cornelia was having quite a wild time of it smile while her staid old hubby progressed - then he got knifed downtown by an angry student (with one of Shaklin's mods) and she was quite a contented widow.

"knifed downtown"? Would that be the ghetto mod?

Didn't you also add guns to your game? I thought the UK was the model of gun control. Are you trying to play in "American style"? Just kidding you Sita, I just find it kind of ironic. All my sims seem to die of old age (Sims 2), maybe I could use some variety too. I even added the "no burn stoves" hack so I don't lose any to fire anymore. My game could be considered "too safe" while yours sounds more exciting.

Yup, I had Shaklin's guns too - but this Sims couldn't afford a gun razz

I like to let the game determine the fate of my Sims, and then try and fit their story around it, and I like to try new mods. Sometimes it works. Is that exciting? lol

You have to remember, I started Simming because I was off sick and hated daytime TV.

In my main playable Hood, Sherwood, I have yet to have any of the main characters die of old age - they have Elixir too, but many are aging. Pescado and Bob Newbie are the oldest, so I need to start getting them ready for their "big date" I guess.

Since the current theme here's "Letting Sims Grow Old," I might as well post the latest to do so.

Helios & Selene Terrano

Mary-Sue & Daniel Pleasant

Mary-Sue having yet another makeover there. She ended up looking a bit too much like a cross between Auntie Lesley & Charlotte with that other haircut.

No elixir for them. I don't think Sim-me'll be on elixir much longer, either. I'd be worried if your children start to be older than you are. After all, he is a grandad. He should at least be grandfatherly in appearance. (Current mindset: Get OFB and make him like Alan Sugar.)

Might as well leave the elixirs to Gregsim & She, since they have about two whole floors (and an attic) full of the stuff.

Simmiecal made it. All (most anyway) of our self-sims are in there. She made a BIG hood and there have been a few that had problems with it. (I haven't had any, and I've been playing it extensively. Only problem I had was it running slowly in neighborhood view. Removing some neighborhood decorations helped that). There are terrain paints and lots of custom content in the big version. She is currently working on Matyville Lite. (Very little or no CC, a lot of the empty buildings deleted, and NO TERRAIN PAINT which is what most everyone was worried about). This is the topic where it's discussed and a link for the big files if you are interested.

OOOH

I was thinking of making something like that.

Might be fun to do a Hullabaloo one!

(I would need to make a new SimMe - SimSita looks less like me every day....) alien

Most of our lessons in recent weeks have consisted of the teachers saying "I can't be bothered, so here's a video on it." Namely programmes recorded off of BBC Two in the eighties. So much so that, well, why not?

The Whole Sort of General Mish-Mash Follows Shortly

Yes, this does mean updates soon. When I can actually get around to playing the game.
That's the small version. If I try to shrink it down, it goes v. blurry.
And should anyone desire to have that as a desktop background, here it is. (1024x768. 658KB. Click the link and then do "Save image as.")

Anyone noticed the ever-so-slight change in Sim-me?

Don't think so. That style of him's always had a mustache.

(Try comparing the facial structures)

Feet-age, because there's more than just one thing. Anyhoo, some of this is recent. Some (One picture - though that doesn't really count as some) isn't.

The Evolution of Sim-me

Left to right: Old Enderbian version, Ident & New Enderbian version, Some random version, MATYville & Avatar version.

The Death of Lesley

Relatively recent. Platinum tombstone, now at the cemetery across the road.

In Memoriam

Three guesses as to why it's titled the way it is. If you want a clue, that generation is now extinct. The current "oldest" generation consists of M-S & D Pleasant, S & H Terrano, the DeFacto sisters, Sim-me, Sim-Hannah, Gregsim and She.

Bonus Archival Image: A Much Younger Harmony

That's the one with the ponytail, not the newborn. And that was taken on June 12th last year. Eep! 9 whole months of Enderby being as Enderby is. I'm shocked. I've usually deleted neighbourhoods by then.
