'Tis a very nice house.

I think Enderby may be on the verge of doom. Or something. Today, I was looking through the memories and the most recent memory for anyone in the DeFacto or Redgrave families is this: Liam and Leia Graduated Cum_Laude.

They both graduated Summa_Cum_Laude in... in... July! Why this should appear now is anyone's guess. I'd restore to a backup, but I've only got one from Sunday...

Now, on a lighter note:

Happy (Belated) Samhain/Hallowe'en/Overly Commercialised Holiday Which Overshadows November 5th!

Charlotte and Rosie look different from the default vamps because they use that custom vamp tone (made by Reggikko's son) which overrides the default tone. It looks great on aliens, too.

Enderby's Current Vampire Population: 4 (Including Grand Vamps)
Projected: 9

Note: I would be less critical of Hallowe'en, but it's used as an excuse to shove fireworks through people's front doors. (Not that I do that. But I know of people who do.)

Zara's entered teenhood. And then the game crashed. I'm blaiming Leia. She rang Gregsim with the "Hey! I found some new places Downtown" box. It crashed. Wait, no. I blame Maxis.

Things are Going to Have to Change Around Here

The haircut I can probably live with. The clothes and the LTW of Have 6 Grandchildren? No way, Josť.

Who on earth is this Josť person anyway?

A green shirt with a denim skirt? Nope. Some things just weren't meant to be!
Grin

(Maybe he's the Josť who works in my group as the project engineer for the compound-specific analyzer?)

Ok, how about this?

Insert Comedic Title Here

There were a couple of experiments with different hairstyles, but I think that one suits her the best. Her LTW has been re-rolled to Reach Golden Anniversary. She'll age, like everyone else except Gregsim and She - who will still be drinking Elixirs.

Unless you want to see a Count and a Contessa Bennett... Bleh!!

Aarggh! Perish the thought!
Rolling on the Floor Laughing

Guzzle that elixir! Serve it for breakfast!

Speaking of which, in my game, Gregsim is now 130 days old, and he's still happily working his day job as Captain Hero.

Speaking of reaching the Golden Anniversary, I've read about it but I've never played it. I think it just means that you get to be an elder and have a Golden Anniversary party. Is that right?

How do you keep track of Gregsim's age? Someone was asking in another thread...

Whenever I take a picture, I log the date and time. Since I use Greg Days as the standard calendar for all of Happy Valley, it's easy to keep track of his age.

I think it might just be one of the couple being an elder, though I'm not that sure. The party doesn't have to be a success. The want is registered as soon as the guests are invited.

I think I need some sort of calendar for Enderby. GD wouldn't work because he's only about 25 days old. I could do DeFacto days or something. Medwin's about 66 and halfway through Elderness - however, Contessa Dickinson's mum and dad are the same age as Medwin, but about three quarters of the way through Elderness/hood/thing.

I live having a calendar just to keep track of where my main viewpoint household was when events transpired elsewhere in town. I also keep track of the days in each household. A typical entry for a photo in the album would be like:
Wednesday, Day 4, 12:34 PM: Jonas got promoted to Assistant Bottle Washer. Belinda maxed out her Origamy skill. Albert Einstein and Catherine Deneuve were visiting.
    GD 130 [November 5, 2005]

Recording the actual calendar date helps me find pictures when I want to illustrate a story. Recording visitors' names helps figure out who is in each picture. Visitors often contribute to the story.

Having the real-world calendar date also tells me how long it's been since I've played a given household. That also helps keep things in synch, and it can be really interesting. The most interesting event was when I did a survey of all the households and found all those baby bombs still waiting to go off.

An alternative to all this is to maintain strict synchronization among all the households in a community. Plan one day in each household in a predefined order. If you create a new household, add it to the rotation. (I've never tried this. I just play with the household I'm most interested in at the moment.)

I can't bear to do rotations. I only seem to manage a decent amount of time in one household a day, if I'm lucky. I've got The Catcher in the Rye to read and Geography coursework to redraft, which means I'll be incapacitated for most of the week. Then there's the matter of Hawton-on-the-Wold, a sort of little English village version of Bonnyview Shores.

Though I did manage to get a couple of hours play in the Cox (Jackie & Anthony) household.

Three pictures ensue.

Guests for... I Think This is (What I Would Call) Dinner

Gregsim is, technically, Jackie's Superior Officer. It's just that I always think of either Leia or She as Captain Hero. I moved Gregsim onto the Military track, because all the NASA stuff made me think being an Astronaut would be more in character.

No. Whatever-it-is North Runsfeld Avenue, Sans Driveway

No. Whatever-it-is North Rumsfeld Avenue, With Driveway

Number Whatever-it-is is based on some blueprints I found somewhere on the internet. The original plans had a driveway/garage where it's shown in the third picture. However, I built the house in Uni and am used to it not having the driveway. Though I'm not actually sure which one looks better. So I'm asking. Drive or no drive? What do you think?

I like how you added the driveway, it blends with the house beautifully!

I like the drive where it is too - all my houses have drives now and that works well.

I like the wall to the side of the driveway, it makes it look like an enclosed carport.
