I am a new Sims player. My son bought me both games 6th months ago. I graduated from Sims 1 last month and now on to the next level. LOL
I am having fun learning how to make the game much better to play with all the wonderful objects and hacks that people make.
Thanks for having a forum where we can go and get help and meet new people.
Kathy

Hi! I'm a newbie also, and also with kids. My two kids and I have been playing the original Sims for a very long time, and just made the jump to TS2 a month or two ago. (My wife has resisted so far, heh heh.) It's a nice place, Hullabaloo. Much more clue, if somewhat less frenetic activity, than the EA forums... *8)

This forum looks like it is easy to get around also. Yeah Sims 2 is a fun step to move up to. I am still trying to figure out how to make a home and decorate and it not come up so ugly. LOL

Welcome folks!

The Hullabaloo is definitely one of the more quiet communities. Having seen some of the notes from the EA board, I guess I also can't argue about Hullabaloo having more cluishness, too. I think that's what I expect where half the folks who've been regularly posting notes here are Sims webmasters.

I've started up The Sims a few times since The Sims 2 came out, but only to do simsmastery things or to play with a special toy like Grandma's Norma Jean's Roadside Diner. (That's on the Artistic Habitats site. I sneaked past Grandma's frames to provide a direct link.) Her custom animations for the NPC's make that one really fun.

But mostly I'm totally spoiled by The Sims 2. I like being able to get right into the action with the characters and I enjoy the greater fidelity of the graphics.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I might not be around for awhile but will return. Last night I was told that my mother does have cancer in the lungs and that there is no cure for this type that she has. I feel lost at the moment and know I am not able to concentrate on my life for awhile.
Once I feel in control or how ever I am supposed to feel better I will be posting. :sickly: :frown:

Actually, a lot of us are in similar situations... and we use The Sims for relaxation. If you need to vent or chat or whatever, we're here!

Thank you for saying that. I have tried to play the sims since I found out Friday and I just cant seem to do it right now. I even tried to make some skins today, but my mind was off. Its hard to lose a loved one and when its your Mother even harder.
When I need to talk and vent I will be around.

Hi Kathy . . . =)

Believe it or not, I'm going through the same thing right now.

We found out in April my Mother has lung cancer and the cancer is not only in her lungs, but bones, liver and brain.

If you need to talk, please do . . . it's really helpful. :hugs:

Regards,

I'm so sorry, Kathy. I know, it's very difficult watching your mother suffer.
I'm going through it too.
If you need to talk you can email me anytime.
Carrot is right, it's better to talk about it.
:hugs:

I just lost my mom to cancer 2 months ago as well. You will find you have no shortage of sympathetic ears and soft shoulders to cry on around here.

p.s. Is it wierd that there is so many of us going through this at once? And that we are all together here?

That thought crossed my mind too Liss . . .

Then again, I am one to think "everything happens for a reason" . . .

I have thought of the same thing. I think part of it's the fact that we are all very close in age....I know I'm older! :razz4: But, it might have something to do with it.

I do believe everything happens for a reason. We need each other right now. :hugs:
