Ok there is an aspiration reward that is a counterfeiting machine. (You all know that probably). Anyway, I was wondering if you have to have a certain skill high, like mechanical or logic or something, to reduce the risk of using it? I know you need to have high aspiration but I'm not sure about the other part. It seems to me there was a website somewhere that listed backfires and mood requirements of aspiration and reward objects. Anyway this was just a random thought because most of my prosperity sims are dirt poor (I'm still in the first generation) and this would be a nice way to supplement the income. I have had the darn thing start on fire on me before, and I think the police were called once, but I might be thinking of something else like hacking grades for that one. I do clearly recall it starting on fire though.

Or save right before using it...

well. I experimented with this last night, and got greedy (LOL!) and used it for about 4 hours with a sim that was platinum, then gold. The cop came and confiscated the machine and fined me $1,000
It didn't start on fire though! lol

Here's an interesting thought........does the sim that used it have a high interest in crime? Just curious if that has anything to do with it or not. I had a sim in the military that wanted to use it just the other day and that is the first time I'd ever seen it. But I used a boolprop and blew up that neighborhood when I was playing around with tests.

hmmmm....I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not....but since Maxis usually doesn't make a lot of sense, I'd guess no.
After the cop confiscated the darn thing and fined me, I only had 700 simoleans left LOL!

EXACTLY!! I was going to edit my previous post to comment on the somewhat "disturbing" manical laughter of the elderly woman but decided not to . . . lazy moment I guess. = \ hehe
Kind of creepy it was . . . however semi-entertaining (maybe shocking) to see an elder figure so amused with breaking the law! Lol

Yow, a game oddity I've seen but Greg hasn't!!! *8)
If you have a garden gnome sitting out in your yard, eventually a visitor will steal it. Sounds unlikely, I know, but it's true. Even odder, once that happens someone in your house is likely to get an autonomous "Steal back gnome" motive. Let them do it, if you don't mind them being off-lot for a little while. Hilarity (or at least funny faces) ensues.

LOL!!!!!! I knew that they stole them, I thought it was a thing that grouchy sims did, like kicking over the garbage can. I didn't know they could steal them back! hehehe....off topic but my favorite autonomous action is when you put a toddler near a stereo and they start dancing. So cute!!!!!!

So just for the record *8) here's good old Marsha Bruenig stealing the Zoom's gnome:
And here's the memorable look on Marisa Zoom (nee Bendett)'s face as she stands at the very edge of the lot, about to leave to steal it back:
(I tell ya, these Maxis d00ds are geniuses. I guess when you're writing the sequel to the best-selling PC game of all time, you can afford the free soda and foosball that geniuses demand, heh heh.)
