I'm Eveningstar (as the name suggests) and I'm from sapphiresims2. I spend more time downloading for Sims 2 than actually playing it because I got stuck with the very slow '98 that is already jam-packed with Sims 1 (my brother got the flashy new computer, even though the Sims 2 was actually my Christmas present). I'm hoping to meet you all!

Nice to meet you!
I've been reading some of the threads here and they're highly enjoyable. Makes me want to actually go on the Sims 2 and stick with a family. I have this bad habit of just building houses and families, but never doing anything more with them, I'm so busy.

You'd be amazed at what a secondary drive would do for your 98 box... you can get a fairly large one for under $100 and you'd see a BIG improvement in all your games (plus have lots more room for downloads...)

Will The Sims 2 run under 98?

It's supposed to, assuming you've got a hot enough video card (which I don't).

It did on my sister's PC. But then Dad gave her XP and she's got the comedy (or not so comedy) liney-sims.

Err, I've already got a secondary drive on the '98. I suppose to be honest its not just Sims 1. There's plenty of other games I'm too fond of to uninstall. And I've got the worst sound card there is. It couldn't even play the Sims 1 loading music without stuffing up about ten times.

Something to do with the graphics card she's got. The patch was meant to fix it, but it didn't do anything.

Where are my manners? Hi Eveningstar. Hope you enjoy your time at the Hullabaloo.
