Sorry about that. I was out of town and didn't have access to the net. Usually I get 'em before even have time to authenticate, much less post anything.

Yes, we do have a psychotic spamtroll harrassing the Hullabaloo. It's a trivial nuisance at worst; takes me less than 10 seconds to undo hours of spamtroll work. Sometimes the spamtroll will try salting the forum with a dozen or more messages, but even that is a waste of time. One mouse click is all it takes for me to delete all the junk. Another mouse click anlayzes where the spam was posted from and blocks the IP if appropropriate. A third mouse click drop-kicks the spammer through the goalposts of life.

If you see a spam message, just ignore it. If you have reason to believe that I've overlooked it, then send me a PM about it. (But only if you think I've overlooked it. It takes me much longer to reply to a note about a spammer than to deal with the spammer.) In any case, don't reply to a spam thread; that's just playing into the pscyho's hands.

The worst part is that "OMG NEW MESSAGE WHEEEEEEE...OH DARN!" couple of seconds.

Yeah, but it's actually just the usual load. I've been having problems with network connectivity today and our spamtroll took advantage of that.
