Thought I'd clutter up the thread listing *8) with a place to put random Langerak stories from Neighborhood One, to accompany the Raptor stories and Danvers stories and so on.

The original Neighborhood One Langerak story tells how Kaylynn Langerak the maid fell in love with Eleanor Raptor, moved in, moved out again, and eventually fell out of love. As described off in my weblog somewhere, she later reached the top of her profession, fell in love with Benjamin Long, married him, and had twins. So Kaylynn's doing pretty well for herself. Benjamin Long Langerak is sloooowly working his way up the Science track, having realized at some point that politics wasn't really for him and abandoned his promising Senate position. And the twins are growing up...

Teenage Langeraks
Part I

An utterly uneventful domestic-bliss update today; because uneventful domestic bliss is good.

After prosperous uneventful childhoods, it was the twins' birthday(s). Olivia beat her brother to the top of the stairs, and got to go first.

She aged up well, in her PJs.


Wishes do come true.

Teenage Langeraks
Part II

After some quick and eminently photogenic celebratory hugs,

That the twins became Best Friends during this hug was entirely a coincidence, or at least none of my doing.

Kaylynn and Ben went downstairs to collapse into bed, and the new teenagers worked on Fun and Hygiene. Here's Zachary back from his bath.


"Your turn, Sis."
Ooh, I like his clothes.

And here's Olivia, freshly scrubbed and with her hair done.


Rockin'
A cheerleader outfit? Gad, how wholesome. But I should be tolerant; mustn't force everyone to be edgy. I wonder if the Langeraks vote Republican?

The twins immediately started showing up as walkbys (one at a time) in other lots. The most interesting being that she walked past the Love Nest, met Eleanor Raptor (her Mom's former and perhaps present lover, who rescued her from NPChood), and they quickly became friends.


"Mom's told me so much about you!"
"You don't seem all that scary."

So there are the Langeraks, proceeding into the future a minute at a time. More updates, no doubt, later on.

In my game, Kaylynn is still a maid, but I've been working her through college.

Sending NPC's to college classes is one of my favorite tricks. Lucy Hanby is a senior now. I forget where Kaylynn is, but she's moving along.

Oops! I got that backwards!

In at least one neighborhood in my game, Kaylynn is a senior, majoring in Poli Sci. Lucy just took the finals for the first semester of her sophomore year. All is revealed in Chapter 139 of Tales of Happy Valley.

Nevertheless, one thing is consistent: Kaylynn likes girls.

Continued prosperity
Some more Langerak updates

When last we left the Langeraks the twins had just grown into teenagers. Kaylynn and Benjamin made sure that the kids stayed focused on their studies.


Homework, chess, and clothing styles

Kaylynn continued to be the bedrock of the family, generally admired by all.

Eleanor's thinking "Kaylynn and Mother seem awfully fond of each other here; was there something going on there behind my back after all?"


...and family. "To you, Mom!"
In fact the toasting set's been a constant nuisance, with people and guests constantly trying and failing to gather everyone for a toast. I eventually hid or deleted it, but they still do it anyway; it's a Phantom Toasting Set!

And Benjamin also prospered, eventually fulfilling his lifetime dream by being admitted to the ranks of the Society of Mad Scientists.

Now he's working on Chief of Staff.

Yup, I have that same problem with the toasting set. It seems to exist only to run a destruction test on your design of the bathrooms.

Hmm... have you noticed that all the folks who post stories on the Hullabaloo are guys? I wonder if there is any deep meaning to this.

Potty Dreams

Kaylynn's life's ambition is to graduate three children from college. This requires, among other things, having three children.


Potty dreams
On her first night of pregnancy. And Benjamin's having Elixir nightmares; maybe he's afraid I'm going to start letting everyone age.

Soon number three was well on the way.


Benjamin couldn't have been more delighted.
Being permaplatinum and all, heh heh.


And Kaylynn's friends were all happy for her.
Benjamin is thinking "it's a little odd to have one's wife's ex-lover hanging around all the time, but at least she's hot".

Playing at Love

The twins developed healthy interests in their peers.


"I don't know why everyone says Sophie's such a jerk; I think she's grand!"
For some reason she hasn't pranked him once.


"And of course there's Meadow."
But Sophie's his favorite.


Olivia and Justin did eventually get that first kiss.
And this one counted! (See previous story.) I like how she's holding his arm so he can't run away.
