The Townie Project
Townie number three, and further developments
The Project's third move-in happened over at Rooms to Let, where Sandy Bruty (who was once a townie herself and can therefore sympathize) brought in Christy Stratton.
Welcome, Christy; here's your plumb bob!
Christy Stratton, a Family sim, contributed fifteen thousand simoleons to Rooms to Let's already overflowing coffers. Currently working as a Security Guard, Christy hopes someday to have six grandchildren.
Christy was once a member of Team Hero, but not long ago she was taken prisoner during a battle with The Extractor. Her teammates rescued her, but not before the villain's fiendish devices had robbed her of her superpowers and nearly all of her skills.
The Team found her a low-level Law Enforcement job, but she had to give up her suite in Hero Orbital Headquarters. She was about to move into the drabness of Generic Townie Housing when she saw a notice about the Project on the bulletin board, and immediately called Sandy. Rooms to Let is the perfect hangout for someone badly in need of skilling, so Christy will probably be spending at least a few days there before getting on the bus.
Meanwhile over at the Love Nest, the Project has run into its first little snag.
"Ooh, what a sexy little belly!"
"Sweet talk will get you nowhere, buster. As soon as this bun is out of the oven, you and it are outta here!"
Sally's actually much softer-hearted than she talks. She's very fond of Mitch, and almost considered letting him stay around long-term. Short of that, though, she decided what with him being Family and all, a little bundle of joy to take with him to Casa Townie would be the perfect going-away present. The lucky kid will have a loving father, five assistant parents, and a notorious mom across town to visit if things get boring.
(I just hope it's not twins!)
Boy, should I not have said that! Childbirth here, Townie Project continues here.

As well you should! *8) Your line is very popular in my neighborhood.
(I've got so much good cc in my game now, and I'm getting so used to it being there, that I'm starting to forget what I've paid Maxis for v. what I should be thanking cc creators for...)

I'm gonna try some maternity clothes next... I'm so tired of seeing the same 3 outfits in everyone's stories!

Well, I don't have the game, er, full universe yet, so I'm waiting for MikeD to mail me the "recolorable" parts, so send a message to Ireland and tell him to get on the stick and send them to me!

Townie Project Interim Notice
There may be a brief lull in postings on The Townie Project because so bleeding much has happened that it's going to take me awhile to assimilate it all (and because there's some backstory in another thread or two that I really ought to fill in before going much further). But I really do want to get everyone into Casa Townie and test it out!
(Maybe I could call in sick at work for a couple of days... )
In the meantime everyone should bug Greg for more updates on that whole Drow situation, not to mention the Fetish Sorority... *8)

The townies begin to gather
Over at the Raptors, a pair of twins arrived, and Mitch and the twins moved out to the Bus Stop to wait for the others.
A bit overwhelmed
Don't worry Mitch, we'll get you some help within a minute or two of lot-time.
At Eleanor and Kennedy's place, Kennedy took Melissa's arrival mostly in stride.
Someone new for breakfast
"Now hm, I get home from work, and Eleanor's asleep, and this other woman comes out of the bedroom and makes herself some breakfast. I'm just not going to think about this too hard."
Melissa made good use of the facilities, both solo
Practicing Romance
She also made good use of the bed and all, but we'll leave that behind the curtain.
And with Kennedy.
"I'm glad everyone's getting along so nicely."
"And you both look like real dorks in those caps, har har har!"
Eventually it was time to go.
Another goodbye kiss
After making sure that Kennedy is occupied in the other room.
Off in the taxi
"There'd better be interesting people there."
And Mitch got some (rather reluctant) help.
"Babies? No one said anything about babies!"
"It's not going to poop on me or anything, is it?"
Next (eventually): more townies!

Ack! I've lost track! Who is that who just moved in to sing along with Mitch?

That's Melissa Fancey, the standard Townie lady with the flame-bottom pants. We should have a Field Guide... *8)

One all-purpose field guide for absolutely anywhere. Name one townie and I bet everyone will be able to say that (s)he exists on their computer.
Why on earth must they be the (nearly) exactly the same in Pleasantview and every custom neighbourhood? Why can't Maxis be more original?

I'd guess that Maxis wanted to get the game to market and figured the system of townies was good enough as it was.
Nevertheless, I agree. They could have done a lot more with game-generated characters.
