Yo, Peran!

Neighborhood One androphiles are thrilled at the arrival of the dashing Peran Nolstovski in our little community.

(That is Peran, right?) After looking at the housing options and talking to the local gossips, he decided that the civilized quiet of the Zoom household would be more conducive to the pursuit of knowledge than the ardent chaos of the Raptors'.

Peran will be lodging with Ransom and Marisa Zoom, Neighborhood One's leading citizens; Marisa is the well known founding member of the Generic Sports Hall of Fame, and Ransom is a former (um, well) professional (um) facilitator (cough, Criminal Mastermind, cough).

The first encounter with the landlady. Immediately on joining the household, he had daily relationships in the 30's or 40's with everyone, which is nice. And his 20K Simoleans will fatten up the bankroll nicely.

"Oh, since you're so interested in science, you might like to try out the little telescope we just bought."

Peran's first 500 aspiration points in the new neighborhood. I forgot to see what his Lifetime Want is!

"And you're in luck: Jane and Georgia just stopped by. Always nice to meet people one's own age, I think."

If Peran was disappointed to find out that these two lovely women are happily married (to each other), he hid the fact very politely. He seems to be interested in friendship.

"You and me are gonna be great friends, I know it!"

Little Hermes spun up a "Be Friends with Peran" want right away. Of course he's going to be a teenager soon, and those teenagers are pretty unpredictable. That's Georgia hooby-noobying in the background; she doesn't live here anymore, but she drops by uninvited, and comes in without waiting to be greeted, all the time.

Thanks again for exporting him, Carrot! My first downloaded Sim in the game. I'll be good to this copy of him. *8)

P.S. I may be more or less off the net for a week or so, so if I'm quiet don't take it to mean anything...

Hey DC! =)

Yep, that is Peran . . . :winky:

Oh I just love this . . . it's so fun! * I suddenly feel like a kid again! lol *

I thoroughly enjoy seeing what others do with my Sims. When I play, I spend quite a bit of time with them, so it's interesting to see what others do with their little lives. =) * sheesh, perhaps it is "I" that needs to get out more, not Zen! lol *

I think Peran will fit in nicely with the Zooms . . . I don't think he'll worry too much about Harry's past . . =D

Thank You! * it must be obvious how I worry about my Sims ~ hehe *

No problem DC . . thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it. =)

Yeah, altogether too much fun! *8)

(And speaking of getting one's Sims mixed up, the patriarch of my Sims 2 Zoom household is Ransom Zoom (and I named him that even before I knew he was going to be a criminal lol). Harry Zoom is the perpetual bachelor with the snazzy two-part pad in my Sims 1 game. But I'm constantly calling Ransom "Harry" out of habit. I retrofixed my posting above, just because I'm compulsive...)

Oh it's good to know I'm not "alone" in this "mix up" thing. =D

That's too funny though . . . it's almost as if with having the name "Ransom" it was destined the he have a life of crime! :surprised4: hehe

Peran settles in

Peran is settling nicely into the neighborhood (now that I'm back where the Sims machine is, and have managed to steal a few play cycles from the kids). He briefly considered getting a job:

"Heh, nothing but waiters and halfbacks and Army recruiting posters."

but when nothing in the Science or Medical fields showed up, he decided to concentrate on his studies. Turns out his Lifetime Want in my universe is to maximize all his skills; that should be fun!

"Yeah, the King's Indian is all the rage back at the gardening center this month."

And the Zoom household offers lots of opportunities. Here's Ransom, giving him some tips on creativity.

"The key is to really believe what you're saying."

He also has time for social life. When Melissa Fancey walked by, he tore himself away from the chessboard long enough to say hello, and invite her in for a rousing game of whatever that silly game's called.

Isn't that the same outfit that one or more Gregsims are wearing lately? Small world.

So that's Peran's Progress around here lately. *8) I probably won't give you every tiny detail of his life, but I'll let you know if he moves out or gets married or seduces Marisa or anything. Assuming the kids yield me enough computer access for time to pass!

Peran meets Gina

Gina raptor is back from college, and living in a nice little house (of which I'm quite proud). More on the house can be found on my weblog (or will be in an hour or so). But I'm posting here because when the Welcome Wagon arrived to greet her, it was Georgia Danvers, Benjamin Long, and our own Peran Nolstovski!

Always nice to meet new people!!!!
Whoa, I don't think I've seen quite that expression on Gina's face before. Georgia's reaction, on the other hand, is all too predictable. I'm going to try to keep Gina away from any happily married folks for awhile, though, after the John Danvers Incident with her sister.

Everyone had a friendly soak in the hot tub, and Gina found Peran to be a fine figure of a man, and told him so.

"Why thank you, I suppose I am!"
No shrinking violet, this Peran.

There was a slight hitch later on, when Peran got a bit too playful for Gina.

"Okay, my eyes are closed. What's the surprise?"
Gina is a zero in Serious/Playful. Water balloons aren't really her thing.

Now I'll continue in a new entry, so the BBS will start a new page sooner, saving bandwidth.

A New Friend

Gina was not amused by the prank, although Peran seemed quite pleased with himself.

"Hee hee?"
The first time I've seen the water-balloon prank, I think. The giggling face is pretty funny!

Being a tolerant sort, Gina invited Peran back into the hot tub, and after a bit more of a soak (and some splashing; Gina doesn't mind splashing as long as it takes place in the water where it belongs) they were friends.

Aww...
She immediately spun up a "Be Best Friends With Peran" want; people seem to like this guy!

Since then, they've been talking regularly on the phone. Nothing amorous has occurred, but Gina has worked the conversation around in certain directions once or twice.

"Speaking of purple things..."
Maybe she's explaining her Aspiration to him, to avoid any complications later. If only it were so easy!

So Peran's made another friend in the neighborhood, albeit a slightly dangerous one. And it was entirely the game's idea! :smilehap: Or perhaps his, if we assume that Sims volunteer for the Welcome Wagon... :spinspin:

What do you say to a naked lady?

Peran's become Best Friends with Gina, and now he's been at Sally's place also, brought along by Melissa Fancey (demonstrating the advantages of getting up from the chess table and greeting passersby once in awhile).

At Sally's, he met Brandi Letourneau.

You talk about friendship, of course!
I think it's funny that Sims find it perfectly natural to interact with folks, even comparative strangers, in their skivvies. I know the game doesn't realize that Brandi's topless, but it does know she's in her undies, and people could react appropriately. Although I admit I don't actually know what "appropriately" would mean...

(Design sessions at Maxis / EA must be priceless; I'd love to read some transcripts. "Well, what about underwear? Should we have special reactions for people in their underwear?")

("What do you say to a naked lady?" is a reference to the old Allen Funt Candid Camera; I always thought that show should have more footage of Funt getting punched out.)
