After installing SimShow (and before executing the program) go into Windows Explorer and navigate to the SimShow program directory. Adjust (move/cut/paste) your files as follows . . . then fire up the program. You'll be glad you did . . . =)

Put the .cmx files for Male Skins into the cmx2 directory

Put the .cmx files for Female Skins into the cmx3 directory

Put the .cmx files for a Child Skin (either gender) into the cmx4 directory

Put any .skn files into the People directory

Put any .bmp files into the Textures directory

Welcome Rose! =)

I never understood why SimShow by default has such messy file placements. The files are installed in such a jumbled mess, no wonder the program has a hard time sorting things out. At least, my theory has always been if you sort the files into the proper places, the program works better. =)

Be sure to check all the sub-directories for .cmx files, they are mixed around together (male/female/child). But once you get things sorted out, all should work as it should. Plus, I think this is good for when you're checking your own skin designs, helps keep things sorted and tidy. =)

Regards,
