Sims 2 : Career Rewards Guide :pkn:

At certain levels of career tracks your Sims can earn Rewards related to their profession!

Just be careful with the rewards. If you delete them or move to a new house after placing the reward object you will lose it.

The only way to get the reward object back into the house after it's lost, is to get another Sim in the house to the required level for that reward object.

Also, once you hit the proper level to get a reward, DO NOT go to the next career level until you've received your reward (that is if you do indeed want the reward). Once you're at the next career level (above the level a reward is given) you will NOT be able to get the reward.

* The reward is ONLY available on the career level it's rewarded on.*

You're Welcome Hon . . . =)

I know what you mean about missing rewards. One time I had a sim in the Political career track and he had just been promoted to level six. I knew he was given a reward at level five, but at the time I didn't have room in his house to place it, so I just thought I'd wait on it. When level six came around, I checked back to get his reward and it was no longer available. =(

Hopefully, this chart will come in handy for many. =)

* Update *

As far as I know the official patch fixed the "if you don't snag your career reward when you arrive at the precise career reward level it's rewarded on, you'll lost it" issue.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the camera . . =)

It's a hoot too because of all the poses you can put your sims into.

I can't figure out what to do with the camera or what it does. I tried playing with it at the secret society house. I can select commands, but nothing happens after that.

It seems to me in University this is definately fixed. I have one sim at the top of the criminal career and was still able to get the reward

Yup. I had a sim who had quit her job on the Business track because the helicopter wouldn't show up to take her to work. Even after she quit, she could get the Execuputter.

Another thought: There is a cheat that will get you any career reward at any time:
    1. boolprop testingcheatsenabled true
    2. Select the target sim and Shift-click on the newspaper
    3. Select a career
    4. boolprop testingcheatsenabled false (to turn off the Testing Cheats)
    5. Go to the career rewards menu and get your new toy

The active Sim "should" perform the "pose" you select when you click on the camera. =)

After your Sim is "posed" you can then take a picture normally as you do in game (but not with the camera object - at least not that I know of).

I just downloaded my favorite cheater of all time a couple of days ago, insimenator. This thing does EVERYTHING, including most of the TOLAD cheats, etc. Anyway, you can spawn a career adjustor from it, with which you can pick your career, level AND unlock ALL the career rewards at once. (Much more efficient than boolprop).

The Saga Continues . . .

Hi Greg . . me again . . . =)

I've figured out how to use the (camera) Artist Career Reward (I've just been playing with it . . . )

Okay, here's what you do:

Click on the camera

Select "Shoot Picture"

Choose: Portrait or Landscape

Choose: Normal - Vignette - Lightning Bloom - Letterbox - Film Grain

After the choices above you'll then be prompted to "Press the C key to choose subject" (just as when you paint a portrait/still life)

After you "click the C Key" there will be a camera flash, then your active Sim (behind the camera) will squeeze the bulb then another flash takes place. Milliseconds later a photo will be spit out of the side of the camera.

Go into Buy Mode, grab the photo sticking out of the camera and it will "magically" turn into a full size portrait (painting size) that you can place on your wall.

TaDa! =)

Have Fun! I sure am . . . this is great! Too bad I didn't get this figured out sooner! = \

You can also pose your Sims by clicking the Pose option on the camera with the Sims you want in the photo, then make the "picture taker" active and do the above steps. :winky:

Hey Carrot, you probably know this already but since Uni, they don't lose their career rewards anymore after they get promoted. What's more, if they start the job at an annoyingly high level, the career reward shows up.

Thanks Liss! =)

Yep, it seem S2U took care of that snag . . . good thing too, that was just crazy having to "babysit" the career rewards panel. You know what I hope they've fixed with Nightlife? I hope they've fixed the doors! I am so tired of doors remaining open after someone goes through, then having to use the move_objects cheat to replace them.

I just had a thought (please, keep yourself at a safe distance! lol) we'd better start modifying our houses and adding space for garages. :carconvert: woooot! I can't wait for cars! =D
